app-chart-2gpmTHERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT VARIABLES WHEN CALCULATING GALLONS PER ACRE
PSI, GPM, TIP SIZE,  AND SPEED ARE ALL VARIABLES THAT NEED TO BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION. SEE THE OTHER CHARTS AND TABLES TO HELP WITH YOUR CALCULATIONS.

EXAMPLE #1

26 G.P.A. 30 PSI@4 MPH WITH 2 NOZZLES. 25 GALLON SPRAYER

STEP #1  CONVERT FEET TO ACRES

CUSTOMER YARD IS 435 X 300 = 130,500 SQ FT
130,500 · 43,560 = 3 ACRES

STEP #2 – CALCULATE HOW MUCH WATER TO BE USED

APPLICATION RATE (FROM PREVIOUS TABLE) X AREA TO BE SPRAYED = AMOUNT OF WATER
26 G.P.A. (30 PSI@4 MPH WITH 2 NOZZLES) X 3 ACRES = 78 GALLONS @ 4 MPH

STEP #3 – DETERMINE HOW MUCH CHEMICAL TO USE

RATE FROM MANUFACTURES LABEL X AREA TO BE SPRAYED = AMOUNT OF CHEMICAL NEEDED
EXAMPLE: 20 OUNCES PER ACRE X 3 ACRES = 60 OZ.

STEP #4 – DETERMINE HOW MUCH OZ OF CHEMCIAL PER GALLON

TOTAL OZ CHEMICAL / TOTAL AMOUNT OF WATER = AMOUNT OF CHEMICAL PER GALLON
EXAMPLE: 60 TOTAL OZ / 78 TOTAL GALLONS = .77 OZ. PER GALLON

OUTCOME:

FIRST THREE TANKS YOU WILL USE 19.25 OZ OF CHEMCIAL PER TANK (.77 OZ PER GALLON X 25 GALLON TANK)
LAST TANK YOU WILL USE 2.3 OZ OF CHEMCIAL FOR YOUR REMAINING 3 GALLONS (.77 X 3)

 

Example #2

17.3 G.P.A. 30 PSI@3 MPH WITH 2 NOZZLES. 25 GALLON SPRAYER

STEP #1  CONVERT FEET TO ACRES

CUSTOMER YARD IS 140 X 220 = 30,800 SQ FT
30,800 / 45,360 = .68 TOTAL ACRES

STEP #2 – CALCULATE HOW MUCH WATER TO BE USED

17.3 GPA (FROM PREVIOUS GRAPH) X .68 = 11.76 GALLONS TOTAL

STEP #3 – DETERMINE HOW MUCH CHEMICAL TO USE

20 OZ OF CHEMICAL PER ACRE X .68 ACRS = 13.6 TOTAL OZ OF CHEMICAL NEEDED

STEP #4 – DETERMINE HOW MUCH OZ OF CHEMCIAL PER GALLON

13.6 TOTAL OZ / 11.76 GALLONS OF TOTAL WATER = 1.16 OZ OF CHEMICAL PER GALLON

OUTCOME:

FILL TANK WITH 11.76 GALLONS, ADD 13.6 OZ OF CHEMICAL FOR JOB
